NAEA says buyers are in control

The president of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA)
has stated that buyers are currently in a very strong
position.
Commenting on the fact that there are now more properties on the
market, Chris Brown said first-time buyers, problem-free purchasers
and those who already sold their properties will benefit from this
when looking for a new home.
He noted that a few years ago, sellers generally had the luxury of
choosing from a number of buyers, but this may not be the case
now.
"People's expectations are now coming into line with reality ... I
certainly think they [buyers] have got a lot of pulling power and a
lot of influence on the market," he said.
According to the latest Rightmove House Price Index there are now a
record one million properties on the market, with the ratio of
properties to buyers doubling over the past year to 15:1.
